Fillings

Tooth-Colored Fillings Save Your White Smile
Toothache? You may have a cavity. The body is an amazing thing, but it cannot naturally repair tooth decay. The only sure way to stop decay from spreading, restore a tooth to full strength, and alleviate related pain is an appointment with your dentist. Dr. Morgan prefers to fill cavities with tooth-colored composite resin, a durable and attractive solution.

A composite resin filling can be placed in one visit. Dr. Morgan will first address your comfort, then he will gently remove the decay and insert a bit of resin, tinted to blend with the tooth, into the cavity. He will harden the substance with a soft curing light, then shape the filling to complement your bite. Afterwards, he will polish the tooth to an attractive shine.

If your tooth has a large, leaking amalgam filling or extensive tooth decay, Dr. Morgan may recommend an inlay, onlay, or crown instead of a composite resin filling. These lab-made restorations are larger and stronger, ideal for a structurally compromised tooth. Inlays, onlays, and crowns take two visits to create and place.
